As spring returned and flowers began to bloom, 1 September marked the first day of spring in Australia. On this special occasion, Liu Biao, Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, led a delegation on a visit to Melbourne.
The Australia Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce warmly welcomed the delegation at the rooftop venue of the Australian Shengshi Group headquarters. Executive President Niu Tao travelled from Brisbane, while Executive Presidents Chen Yuxing and Yao Hongbing travelled from Sydney, and Executive President Wu Hongyi from Adelaide, to attend the welcoming reception in Melbourne.
During the meeting, Executive President Wang Ning reviewed the Chamber’s development and achievements over the past 12 years. Niu Tao, Chen Yuxing, Yao Hongbing and Wu Hongyi also introduced the work and development of the Chamber’s respective branches in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide.
The Australian Shengshi Group presented an overview of its development and successful experience over nearly two decades. Looking ahead, the Group plans to leverage China’s strengths as a global manufacturing centre over the next five to ten years to expand the supply of modular prefabricated housing and supporting infrastructure for AI data centres in Australia.
Chairman Liu Biao commended the Australia Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce for its work and achievements over the past 12 years and praised the Australian Shengshi Group for its business success in Australia. He encouraged members of the Jiangsu community in Australia to continue supporting and caring for one another, and called on Jiangsu businesspeople to remain united, pursue shared development, integrate into Australian society and build fulfilling lives in Australia.
President Xu Jun expressed his sincere appreciation to the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese for travelling from afar to Melbourne as a trusted home organisation for the overseas Chinese community, listening to their voices and demonstrating its care and support for Jiangsu community leaders living abroad.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Liu Biao and President Xu Jun exchanged commemorative gifts: Yunjin brocade, a treasured form of Chinese cultural heritage, and an Australian Indigenous boomerang.
Executive President Wang Yatong, Secretary-General Lou Yun and English Secretary-General Yin Keshao of the Australia Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce also attended the event.
Chen Yang, Chairman of the Chamber’s Supervisory Board; Huang Wenyong, Executive President in Sydney; Sun Xiaoxing, Executive President in Perth; and Zhang Nan, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Chamber, joined the event by video link due to overseas business commitments.
